Flapjacks

Crunchy on the top, chewy in the middle.

They're easy. Melt together about 9oz butter/marg with 6oz brown sugar and 2 tbsp of golden syrup. Take off the heat, add 12oz porridge oats and mix. Bake at 180 for about 18 minutes. Divide into squares before they get too cool. Resist eating for at least half an hour to avoid burning your mouth.
