Risotto

Dinner at Ooze - a new risotto only restaurant in Goodge Street, London. Started with Bruschetta and Bread with homemade pesto.

And followed by an aubergine and saffron risotto.

It was . . .ok.

Service by Fausto (the Italian with round glasses) was fantastic, and helped to make the whole evening a great success. As for the food, it was ok, but not brilliant. My feeling is that if you're focussing solely on risotto then you have to do it perfectly. Menu also felt quite heavy, with stodgy desserts following hefty main courses.

Still, good prices for London, so scores ok on value for money. Link on the side, so do go along if you're in the area (and, obviously, if you like risotto). Posted by Picasa

Yes, i'll second your comment about our cheerful waiter! Think risotto is at its best as comfort food. Great to see you guys last night, looking forward to 16th Dec :-)

Foiled - I am indeed a little balding. But not a judge on masterchef, as yet.
