Dinner out

Went out to The Bean Tree in Harpenden for the first time. Good food, and entertainingly over the top service. Started with a jerusalem artichoke soup with truffle oil.

Followed by roast pheasant breast with mixed veg and redcurrents. Good, but not as good as the soup.

Soon after this photo was taken I nearly caused a major scene, by attempting to refill my own water glass. The waiter literally ran from the other end of the room, explaining to me in a whisper that if I has to pour my own water that was a sackable offence for him. Posted by Picasa

It's the Bean Tree in Harpenden. Link to the side.

I would reccommend it, with the proviso that it is quite pricey. It's quite near Novelli's restaurant - about a 10 minute walk, I reckon.
