Steak for tea

Rib-eye steak, peppercorn sauce, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, yummy chips. Glass of Cote du Rhone in the background. All very good - and felt well deserved after a whole day walking. The pub (The Russell) was great - tasty food, nice wine, good service. Slightly pricey for a country pub, but the steak was very good indeed. Posted by Picasa

I was dissapointed by the peppercorn sauce, not enough peppercorn for my taste. I did love the chips though.

Peppercorn sauce could have been stronger, but I approved of the latitude given to the customer to determine their own pouring regime.

In my opinion Peppercorn Sauce ruins a steak - its bearnaise or red wine jus all the way for me!
