Sunday lunch with friends

Sausage and red wine casserole - very tasty, and easy to make as well. A good dish to prepare when people are visiting, because you can do it all up front.

With nice mashed potato. Good chunky food for a cold winters' day - pity it's blazingly hot outside.

Pudding was Tesco Finest*

Sausage casserole recipe as follows:

- Brown sausages, then remove
- Add pancetta and shallots, brown
- Add flour, stir
- Add wine
- Add sausages, garlic, thyme
- Simmer for 1 hr with lid on
- Add chopped muchrooms, remove lid, simmer for 30 minutes

I make no apologies for buying puddings. I don't normally eat puddings myself, and the effort / taste ratio always sees far too high.

I may however give in to peer pressure and make one for you all soon.
