Family Christmas Party

Out to Galvin La Chappelle for a sibling Christmas party

Started with champagne cocktails at the bar

Followed by a delicious 'foie gras salad'

And then a lighter main - a raviolo of wood smoked squash with a sage butter

Great food, bu I much prefer the atmosphere and service at Galvin Bistrot de Luxe - this was the same food, but a bit more expensive, and a much more 'corporate' environment

Fat pheasant

An unusually fat and moist pheasant

Roasted, and served with brad sauce, rosemary roasted potatoes, carrots and a marsala sauce

Saturday steak

A generously sized fillet steak in a peppercorn crust, with goose-fat-fried potatoes, cauliflower and broccoli cheese and a creamy brandy and peppercorn sauce

Friday night curry

A vegetable rogan josh, with rice, chapattis and chutney

Asian salmon

A simple salmon dish - baked in foil with soy sauce, lime juice and chilli, and erved with steamed rice and pak choi stir fried in garlic and ginger

Sunday roast

Testing out the new fan ovens with a full Sunday roast - a plump chicken

And plenty of roast potatoes

Fajitas

Chicken fajitas with sou cream and a homemade salsa

Slow cooked sausage pasta

slow cooking spicy Italian sausage meat with onions, garlic, chilli, bay, tomatoes and wine

Added cream, parmesan and nutmeg for an unctuous pasta sauce

Goulash

Pork goulash with sour cream and linguini
