A pastry based dinner

Main course was an old favourite - mushroom, thyme and taleggio tart

Followed by a little plum tartlet. An experiment, and not one I'll repeat. All in all, a bit too much pastry in one meal.

Bananas on toast, of course

Pasta puttanesca

Linguine with tinned tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, capers, shallots, anchovies and chilli

An easy Sunday lunch

Chicken stir fry

Stir frying chicken with honey, soy sauce, lime juice, peppers and spring onions

Served with basmati rice with cardamom, coriander and cashews

Great recipe - very simple, and felt very light

Saturday breakfast

Scrambled eggs on potato cakes, with grilled bacon and orange juice

Summer evening's Friday dinner

Was looking for something tasty and exciting, yet quick, so came up with the following:

Spatchcocked poussin in a harissa and olive oil marinade

With a watercress and blood orange salad

Served with some basmati and a chilli-yoghurt sauce

Steak dinner

Attempting a healthy dinner that still includes steak - sirloin with an artichoke and little gem salad, and cherry tomatoes

Accompanied, as ever, by a bearnaise sauce

Thai stir fry

Away at a friends. Thai stir fry for Sunday lunch.

Very light and tasty - chicken, sugar snap peas, tomatoes, mango and cashews

Homemade tuna mayonnaise with cucumber

Tasty dinner

An odd, yet tasty dinner. Oven baked salmon,

With a plain risotto - apparently good if you're ill

Served with salad. All the individual components were good, but it didn't go together very well.

Wedding food

Started with a tomato, mozzarella and pesto salad

Followed by chicken in a green peppercorn sauce, with roasted new potatoes, carrots and baby corn

Dinner in Devon

Homemade squash and spinach ravioli

Followed by roast pork with crackling, potatoes, carrots and spring greens. The pork had great flavour, and the gravy was amazing. Pork was Lovaton farm (see links), and wholeheartedly recommended.

Finished off with homemade strawberry ice cream.

Lunch in Brighton

A good lunch with work at a pizzeria in Brighton. Started off with a salad tricolore

And followed with an artichoke and mushroom pizza

Curry

At the Mumtaj in St Albans. Started, as ever, with pickles and poppadums

Followed by a chicken jalfrezi with a peshwari naan

Dinner with friends

Chicken in sage and parma ham, with an amazing artichoke and basil salad

Followed by individual plum crumbles with plentiful custard

Monday evening favourites

Steak, goose-fat-fried potatoes and saute courgettes

Followed by the rest of the plums with marscarpone. Even nicer cold.
