Flapjacks

Sunday roast

A good chicken, roasted with lemon and garlic. Put some carrots and shallots in the pan about 45 minutes before it was done, which really helped the gravy making. Served with new potatoes and spinach.

Lunch in Chinatown


Lunch at the Yming. Started with sesame prawn toast, cauliflower and prawns in spiced salt, spring rolls and seaweed

Followed by aromatic crispy duck

Main course was chicken in hot sesame sauce, pork, mixed veg and rice

Followed by a lychee mix

I'd definitely recommend it. Food was (for central London) very good value, location was central and the service was great.

Weekend in the country

Baking chocolate cookies

Leg of lamb - I started by inserting anchovies, rosemary and garlic

Then smeared with an anchovy butter, and roasted in a tin with white wine, garlic and a carrot

Sunday was brown trout, oven-steamed with fennel, shallots, white wine and lemon

Followed by belly of pork with a pancetta and potato mash with roasted tomatoes.
