Improvised lamb supper

Saw something similar on Masterchef this week, and it looked tasty, so gave it a go

Marinaded rolled lamb shoulder in lemon juice, salt, thyme, chilli, garlic and yoghurt

Made simple flatbreads with flour, water and olive oil

Lamb was roasted until just pink

Served on a spicy aubergine and tomato stew, with the flatbreads and a cucumber and mint yoghurt

New River Cafe pasta

A new river cafe recipe

As with all such, it sounds extreme when you cook it, but tastes amazing

Involves simmering stewing steak for four hours, having marinaded it in red wine overnight

Also in there were onions, celery, bay leaves, pine nuts and cloves

The meat is then shredded, and mixed with lemon zest, olive oil and parmesan to make an amazingly rich pasta sauce

Old favourite

A holiday cottage staple - River Cafe carbonara is tasty, easy, uses limited pans, and as long as you tuck some pancetta into your bag all the rest of the ingredients can be bought in any corner shop

A somewhat poignant dinner - http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2010/feb/28/rose-gray-obituary

A week by the sea

A week in Orford, Suffolk, so plenty of seafood

Started with some fresh cod

The cod was gently shallow fried in olive oil, and served with courgettes and crushed new potatoes

The cod was amazing - probably the freshest I've ever had
