A weekend in Brussels

Lunch in Belga Queen. Started with an excellent lobster soup

Followed by steak, spinach and a pepper sauce

The restaurant was great, and I'd definitely recommend it, but the food wasn't fantastic

Dinner was more interesting - started with raw tuna rapped in nori on a beansprout and soy salad

Followed by giant crab claws with couscous and a beurre blanc

Another dinner at RSJs

I've been going to RSJs a few times a year for over a decade now, and I can't think of a bad meal I've had there. Started with smoked salmon, salmon eggs and caperberries

Followed by venison, spinach and mash

Finished with an orange and clotted cream ice cream

A nice guinea fowl, rubbed with olive oil, salt and pepper

Pot roasted with pancetta, celery and white wine

I strained and reduced the cooking juices to make a great gravy, and served with broccoli and goose fat fried potatoes

Staying at The Node in Hertfordshire. Good food throughout, some examples here. A goats' cheese and caramalised red onion tart.

A berry parfait was excellent

A good tian of prawns and avocado

And a duck breast (slightly overcooked) on pak choi and mash
